Launch pricing, correct as of 5 August 2026, confirmed in writing at your demo. No setup fee, no monthly software fee, no minimum volume, no charge for refunds. tapbanc is not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to these prices; if that changes we give 30 days' notice. Is there a contract?
No — and there's no monthly software fee either. You buy the terminal once and pay only when you take a payment. If tapbanc isn't for you, stop using it; there's nothing to cancel. We'd rather earn your business on every transaction than lock you in.
How fast does money reach my account?
Pay by Bank settles over Faster Payments — usually in seconds, rarely more than two hours, any day of the year including weekends and bank holidays. Card payments follow Stripe's standard schedule — typically within 3 working days, and the very first payout on a new account takes longer while verification checks complete.
What happens if the internet drops?
The terminal runs on your Wi-Fi, which costs nothing. If your Wi-Fi is unreliable, you can switch on the built-in 4G SIM backup for £7 a month — per terminal, only billed in the months it's enabled, and you can turn it off any time. If everything is down, the screen says so clearly and no payment is half-taken — a payment either completes or it doesn't.
How does the Gift Aid fee work?
We charge 2.5% of the Gift Aid we actually recover for you, and nothing otherwise. If we reclaim £8,000 from HMRC, our fee is £200 and you keep £7,800 you wouldn't otherwise have had. No recovery, no fee — we only earn when we deliver money.
How do refunds work?
Full or partial refunds in one press from the terminal or your dashboard, whichever way the customer paid. Pay by Bank refunds go back bank-to-bank; card refunds follow the card network's usual timing.
Are these the final prices?
These are our launch prices, and they're confirmed in writing before you pay anything. If a price changes, existing customers keep the rate they signed up on. What we won't ever do is hide pricing behind "contact us".
